The current incarnation of Affirming the Consequent formed in March of 2006 in Tucson, Arizona. Quickly gaining the title of "Tucson's only gothic jam band", ATC derives its free-form melodic darkness from such bands as Pearl Jam, Tool, and Jane's Addiction.The band formed when the current members either quit or were ejected from previous projects. Converging together with the concept of not fettering themselves with preconceived notions of musical styles, ATC has blossomed into a band that has appealed to all audiences, having successfully played with jazz, rock, hardcore, and grindcore bands.
The presentation of honest, intense vocals paired with ethereal guitars has allowed Affirming the Consequent to connect with audience members and garner not only appreciation for their entertaining performances, but also respect for their artistic endeavors.
